The School of Integrated Science and Humanity (SISH) at Florida International University is a unique multi-disciplinary collection of academic departments, research centers and institutes. Our renowned faculty aim to innovate and advance the fields of biomedical, behavioral, cognitive and human sciences.
Degrees in science and humanity are incredibly versatile, leading to careers in government, academia, medicine, law and the private sector. SISH promotes 19 undergraduate majors and concentrations, as well as 20 graduate programs in the fields of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics, Psychology, Philosophy, and Women’s and Gender Studies. Our students have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one science learning experiences with trained Learning Assistants/Peer Educators.
With more than $7 million in newly awarded grants in our various departments and centers, our research agenda covers a wide range of initiatives and fields of study ranging from the chemical aspects of neuronal functioning to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and from mathematical modeling of infectious diseases to the philosophy of cognition and the perceptual experience, to name a few examples.
