Dr. Sankar Adhya Lecture on DNA

Dr. Sankar Adhya is the Chief of Developmental Genetics Section of Laboratory of Molecular Biology at National Cancer Institute, an elected member of National Academy of Sciences, USA, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta, India and also from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. Dr. Adhya earned several prestigious awards including NCI Director's Special Achievement Award (1982) and NIH Director's Award (1991). He published over 200 articles in scientific journals such as Cell and PNAS. His research includes the regulation of gene transcription, regulatory biology of bacteriophage lambda, Bacterial nucleoid, and bacteriophage applications.
