Yina Herrera and Debra Rudnicki have been with Parents As Teachers National Center for over 12 years, having first been trained in 2002. PATNC is celebrating 30 years of success this week at their National Conference in St. Louis and is honoring educators with 10 or more years of experience.
Yina is representing the FIU team, thanks to support for conference attendance from Dr. Rose and SISH. The pictures show her receiving her "pin" as well as Yina with the first PAT educator.
Dr. Rose had the vision to provide community services and established PAT4YOU in 2005. Since then, we have provided parents and their young children (0 to 3) with the PAT curriculum based on neuroscience. Our forte is working with premature infants, leveling the playing field for these children, so that by the time they are school age they have developmentally caught up to their peers. To date, over 600 families have received our services which includes enhancing parenting skills and a community resource referral network.
