David L. Van Rooy MS ’03, Ph.D. ’05

David Van Rooy’05 is Senior Director, Global Leadership Development at Walmart, based in Arkansas. In his prior role at Walmart, he was responsible for the world’s largest performance management and employee engagement programs, covering nearly 2.2 million employees globally. Before Walmart his most recent role was as at Marriott International, where he led global HR operations and systems for several Centers of Expertise (COE) including compensation, benefits, workforce planning, performance management, associate engagement, and learning. He also held several Talent Management and Marketing roles of increasing responsibility at Burger King Corporation. In his book, Trajectory: 7 Career Strategies To Take You From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be David explores the concept of Career Trajectory and how you can leverage your skills and create new possibilities around you to forge a positive path and reach your highest goals.
David received his doctoral degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) – School of Integrated Science and Humanity (SISH). He has published over 20 peer reviewed scientific business articles and book chapters. Most of these have been highly recognized and have been covered by many national and international outlets including USA Today, CNN and HR Asia. This has been complemented by over 30 presentations at international conferences. In addition to performance management and employee engagement, he is a recognized expert in the fields of emotional intelligence and employee assessment and selection.

Dr. Seth J. Crapp ’98

Dr. Seth James Crapp is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He graduated from FIU with a B.A. in Chemistry and attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. After obtaining his M.D., he completed an internship at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, and a residency at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital, where he was Chief Resident.
Dr. Crapp has served on several non-profit boards and community organizations including Knots4Kids, Inc. and the Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches. He is a board member and past-vice-president of the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society and two-time chair of the group’s annual health fair, which has benefited thousands of underserved in Palm Beach. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at Meharry Medical College and practicing as an associate with Radiology Associates of Florida, P.A., in Sarasota, Florida.
